According to a recent report by the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF), one in four online gamers in India believes that e-sports can be a serious profession and pursued a full-time career.
The report also concluded that 43% of Gen Z and 41% of millennials believe that gaming relationships are as important as true friendships. The survey also discovered that almost 76% of gamers are of the opinion that they developed strong analytical abilities, reflexes (65%), as well as strategy and logic (68%) by regularly playing video games.
The report also mentioned that gamers who are considered professional players in their games and are registered with esports companies can earn about INR 5,000- 45,000 per month. The regional finalist team won INR 450,000 in the popular Indian series of mobile games in 2019.
With this research, they were trying to understand if consumers really did understand the value of mobile games. The study helped them conclude that online games are a field of collaboration, participation, and people’s professional development.
The study was conducted between November 2020 and December 2020 in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Patna, Indore, Lucknow, Vadodara, and Jaipur for all age groups. The study was conducted on more than 2,440 Indians.
