AVGC Gets A Booster Shot In Form Of Task Force For Sectoral Development
The Indian government on Tuesday declared the setting up of a team to suggest steps for the advancement of the animation, visual effects, gaming, and comics (AVGC) sector.
The sector offers the colossal potential to employ youth, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in her Budget discourse Tuesday, PTI detailed.
“An AVGC advancement team with all stakeholders will be set up to prescribe ways of understanding this and assemble homegrown capacity for serving our business sectors and the worldwide interest,” she said.

Remarking on the declaration, Jehil Thakkar, partner and media and entertainment sector pioneer, Deloitte India, said the move will assist India with accomplishing its capability of 20,000,00 positions in the sector as indicated by Deloitte projections.
“These are basic abilities for the development of the metaverse and India is ready to exploit this environment,” he said.
The All India Gaming Federation (AIGF), an industry campaigning body of gaming organizations, likewise invited the public authority’s proposition.

As per a tweet put out by the chamber of trade CII’s Biren Ghose, Vice-Chair-CII M&E Committee and India Country Head for Technicolor, “Delighted that GoI has agreed to set up #AVGCtaskforce, will provide strategic direction. Grateful to @MIB_India & @FollowCII for championing this initiative. We will work with GoI to achieve growth in revenue, jobs & global market share.”
Vishal Gondal, considered by some as the father of the Indian gaming industry has begun a gaming organization when individuals didn’t give a lot of significance to the sector, and the founder of @ncore_games, @ice_spice, and indiagames (presently Disney) tweeted: “#Budget2022 promising and forward-looking.
