AIGF’s mission has always been to facilitate recognition for the Online Skill Gaming Industry, which is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the Indian economy. The key objective has been to ensure best practices across the Online Gaming ecosystem through effective self-regulation for its members and other stakeholders including responsible gaming and player protection. This means that AIGF itself has to build and maintain strong expertise to draw from to tackle the various regulatory and legal scenarios this budding industry has to face regularly. AIGF’s self-regulation charter for Online Skill Gaming is based on the principles of Transparency, Integrity, and Responsible Gaming.

Since its establishment, AIGF has been at the forefront consulting with relevant industry policy-makers to illustrate the importance and benefits of recognizing & standardizing the self-regulatory framework established by eminent domain experts that are representatives of different sections like the judiciary, education, finance, and sports backgrounds that make up its advisory committee. One of the honorable members of the advisory committee is Dr. Sutanu Behuria.

A Himachal Pradesh IAS official of the 1976 batch, Dr. Sutanu Behuria has been characteristic in remolding India’s policy programs, infrastructure, IT, NYF, and online transactions structure. He advises on guidelines, procedures and is reshaping fast‐emerging industry segments during their incubation and early stages.

Dr. Sutanu has served as Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs and as Secretary at the National Disaster Management Authority, the Ministry of Home Affairs. He was likewise Secretary in the Department of Fertilizers and the Department of the Heavy Industry. Prior, he has been Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Sports. Dr. Sutanu was born on July 2, 1954, and gets a rich and varied insight, having worked across numerous basic industry sectors in the nation and abroad.

It is given this rich experience that the All‐India Gaming Federation, to build up its portrayal of its various member organizations and key industry players in the online gaming sector has appointed Behuria as President of the ‘Rummy Association (AIGF Advisory)’. The Rummy Association will work intimately with AIGF’s member stakeholders and Governing Council to monitor, educate, and raise issues of online skill gaming organizations.

Behuria has now assumed duty in this most recent positional progression in his illustrious career. He did his Ph.D. in Economics at America’s Southern Methodist University between 1979 and 1982. He then, at that point got back to India where he became Collector in Bilaspur and Solan areas of Himachal Pradesh. In 1987, Dr. Sutanu joined as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs. From 1989 to 1994, Dr. Sutanu was in Manila at Asian Development Bank (ADB). Back in India, Dr. Sutanu started a new inning as a Member of (Finance) the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board. In 2000, with the NDA Government, Dr. Sutanu directed the Union Ministry of Coal as Joint Secretary and kept up with that position for 3 years.

He then, at that point moved to Mauritius in 2003 to join the Commonwealth Secretariat as Senior Policy Advisor. Through UPA 1, Dr. Sutanu was an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, proceeding to become Special Secretary. In September 2010, Dr. Sutanu became India’s Fertilizer Secretary and afterward Secretary of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). In 2012, he was Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. In April 2013, he was appointed Secretary, Heavy Industries Department. Dr. Sutanu’s better half, Mrs. Parvinder Sohi Behuria, is a 1977 batch Indian Revenue Services Officer with a Doctorate’s Degree in Macroeconomics. Parvinder has been instrumental in developing a database of IRS Officers and is a golf player. The Behurias have two children, Supreeti and Pritish.
