It is a step to battle the well-established stigma around menstruation, the new policy is above and beyond to build a sound and comfortable workplace for its female representatives, the organization said.
“By implementing this policy, Zupee is not only acknowledging and safeguarding female colleague`s health but also, raising awareness to avoid menstrual stigmatization,” said Surabhi Sanchita, Vice President, Human Resources at Zupee, in a statement.
“We believe that this policy will enable our female colleagues to better manage their health and strike a balance between personal and professional life,” she added.
Zupee is the primary skill-based online gaming platform to carry out a period leave policy, the organization said, noticing that the approach will be active from April 1.
A few other start-ups have as of late initiated the drive for their female workers.
Online food delivery organization Swiggy gives two days per month of “time off” to its female delivery partners, while Zomato provides its female representatives 10 days of paid leave yearly during the period. Edtech platform Byju likewise provides its female representatives to avail of up to 12 Period Leaves (PELs) in a year.
