The Online Rummy Federation (TORF), a non-profit-driven society to guide and support the online-based rummy industry, has encouraged the Kerala government to manage online gaming and define guidelines for settling the disarrays concerning online games.
The industry body, in a statement, likewise requested the authorities to appoint a joint committee to study the issue in the wake of Kerala High Court as of late quashing a government order which restricted online rummy in the state.
"We emphasize the proposal to set up a joint committee to investigate the possibility of setting up tough guidelines to manage the gaming sector in general and the Skill gaming sector specifically," Sameer Barde, CEO, TORF said.
TORF would be quick to team up and support the state government in fostering a comprehensive guideline that will resolve all the issues of the state, residents, and the sector, he said.
"Online rummy keeps on being appreciated as a type of entertainment by various individuals in the nation. Throughout the long term a few Supreme Court judgments have held rummy to be a game of skill and secured under Article 19(1)(g) of the Indian Constitution," he said.
The High Court of Kerala quashing the notification by the state Government forbidding online rummy came as a justification of our stand that rummy is anything but a game of chance, all things considered, it's a game skill, he asserted in the statement.
