Dangal Games, an online gaming platform, announced Thursday that it will switch to casual games. The company aims to penetrate the mainstream market segment by releasing more than 50 casual games such as 8 Ball Pool, Carrom, Racing, and Quiz.
Dangal Games already offer Rummy, Poker, and Fantasy games, and have also launched a single game application that was initially available for Android users. Its goal in January is to become a unified multi-game platform. Varun Mahna, founder, and CEO of Dangal Games said: “We realize that we can reach a large customer base through casual games. They stated that this announcement is in line with the $1 million Series A funding raised by the brand in January and its aim to become a unified multi-gaming platform.
In terms of application, we try to combine casual games and our flagship products into one, so that end users can make multiple choices according to their preferences without having to download multiple applications. Our goal is to have 8 million users within two years. Mahna said that this application is his first product designed and developed entirely by a team of engineers.
Dangal Games was founded by Varun Mahna, Varun Puri, Shashvat Jain, Karan Gandhi, and Manan Sobti, and started PokerDangal. In 2020, the company launched RummyDangal with more than 5 billion users, thus diversifying into a Rummy game. He launched FantasyDangal in April 2021.
The online gaming industry is expected to grow at a CAGR of 22% to $2 billion by 2023, up from $906 million in 2019, according to a report by All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) and EY India. The report stated that online gamers are estimated to grow from 360 million in 2020 to 510 million in 2022.
