The Minister of State for Electronics & Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday announced that Digital India Startup Hub would set up the first Centre of Excellence (CoE) for online gaming through the Software Technology Parks of India in March 2023.
India’s First CoE In Online Gaming Will Come Up In Shillong By March 2023
The Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, announced on Friday that the Digital India Startup Hub would set up the first Center of Excellence (CoE) for online gaming through the Software Technology Parks of India.
The Digital India Startup Hub will set up the CoE through the Software Technology Parks of India. The minister said that the CoE should be set up by March 2023.
In a statement, the Center expects the CoE in Shillong to catalyze startups and entrepreneurs from the North East Region to build the Next Gen Online Gaming Ecosystem.
“It is the vision of PM Shri Narendra Modi ji that the next wave of startups and entrepreneurs must come from Shillong, Kohima, and other parts of North East India,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar while interacting with journalists at a press conference in Shillong.
The MEITY recently circulated draught amendments to the IT Rules 2021 in relation to online gaming for public recommendations.
In a statement, the Center expects the CoE in Shillong to catalyze startups and entrepreneurs from the North East Region to build the Next Gen Online Gaming Ecosystem.
