Krutika Ojha, who uploads her games to YouTube and streams them, said that certificate programs that teach new gamers how to improve their content creation and streaming skills would be helpful because many people had trouble with this.
Gamers Seek Formal Training To Chase Their Esports Dreams
For many online gamers in India, gaming has become a viable full-time career option in recent years. However, gamers claim that very few have received any kind of training and that if there were options for formal training, they would perform better.
There should have been some training available, which would have been helpful. Kaashvi Hiranandani, 22, who has been doing this full-time for the past two years, stated, “The other people were spending all their time gaming, which gave them an advantage. I was also studying at the same time.”
33% of respondents to the HP India Gaming Landscape Study 2022 said they would consider gaming a full-time career, while the same percentage said they could do so part-time. Being able to turn a hobby into a career and being flexible are the most important factors. However, only 2% of those surveyed claimed to have received gaming-related training.
Gamers must constantly improve their skills. Additionally, the study revealed that one in three gamers is aware of gaming certification programs. However, Vickram Bedi, Senior Director of Personal Systems, HP India, stated, “The majority of gamers rely on personal skill enhancement to upgrade their gaming performance,” which is considered a deterrent to seeking certification.
To improve their skills, gamers typically follow the skills in a particular game. According to the HP study, 32% of gamers followed gaming stars to improve their skills.
JetSynthesys Chairman Rajan Navani states that most gaming companies hold boot camps for their top players. He stated, “This aids them in understanding the game and improving their ability to play it.” Navani said that gamers are looking for other ways to make money besides the ‘play to earn’ option, like making content and live streaming their games, which helps them get brand endorsements. These have made it possible to pursue a career in gaming.
Krutika Ojha, who uploads her games to YouTube and streams them, said that certificate programs that teach new gamers how to improve their content creation and streaming skills would be helpful because many people had trouble with this. She stated that whenever she requires any kind of career guidance or assistance, she typically consults one of the more senior seniors in the area.
When compared to other video games, e-sports training is taken much more seriously.
Revenant Esports founder Rohit Jagasia stated, “All of our five rosters have specific coaches who provide one-on-one guidance to our athletes in order to refine their skills and enhance their performances.” Because it is an extremely important part of the training protocols whenever we are preparing for any tournament, their diet, nutrition, and playing hours are all kept under control.
The mental and physical health of the players is the primary focus of the boot camps, which also incorporate team-building activities.
Free online courses on how to build YouTube pages or use social media effectively to increase their online presence have been used by several gamers.
HP, which sells gaming laptops and PCs in India, has established a community to provide these gamers with the resources and opportunities they need to improve their skills. Bedi stated, “Indian gamers consume a lot of gameplay and live stream content in video format.” They can practice their skills by watching gaming videos made by professional gamers and other content provided by the community.
